Having run out of Randy Travis breaking news last week TMZ turned its attention to Rhonda Aikman, the 43-year-old ex-wife of a certain former Dallas Cowboys QB-turned-FOX announcer arrested by Murphy Police one week ago for public intoxication — a Class C misdemeanor carrying a $269 price tag. TMZ filled the week with every last detail, from where she was arrested (the parking lot of McMillan High School) to the dash-cam video in which she name-drops Troy.
But, at last, Rhonda Aikman’s had enough: Moments ago local publicist Andrea Alcorn dispatched a “Statement on Rhonda Aikman,” which contains the defense offered by the ubiquitous attorney Larry Friedman — speaking of Randy Travis. It follows below, in full, but long story short: Rhonda’s on prescription meds, says Friedman, and at the time of her arrest, she was merely lost, not drunk. Says the man who also once repped Michael Irvin, “Rhonda was frightened and probably did not appear to be her usual friendly self.”
